All ready to have the finishing touch put on your project? Kari would love to help you finish your quilting project with longarm quilting. In Stitches offers a variety of interlocking designs to help complete your project. Whether you have an idea and vision or would like some guidance, Kari can help.

Longarm Quilting Set Up

Quilt Preparation

For the best results:
  • Backing and batting (if you are providing) should be at least 4” longer and wider than the quilt top.
  • Make sure the quilt top and back are square, and that wavy borders are corrected.
  • Make sure the quilt top is pressed and seams are pressed flat.
  • Trim threads (especially dark threads) on both the front and back of the quilt top.
  • Be sure to mark the top of the quilt (if applicable)

Pricing

In Stitches charges by the square inch. To calculate the total square inches of your quilt, multiply the length of the quilt by the width of the quilt. For example, 60 inches by 80 inches is 4,800 square inches.

  • Basic Overall Quilting, Specialty Meanderings, and Overall Interlocking Patterns

    Cost: 1.5-2 cents/sq inch (minimum $50)
    There are a variety of interlocking patterns to choose from, or choose to have a basic freehand meandering designs across the entire quilt.

  • Custom Quilting

    Cost: 2.5-4 cents/sq inch (minimum $40)
    This includes special designs, small stippling, set-in motifs, and other custom requests.

  • Binding

    Cost: 1.5 cents/inch
    Need help binding your quilt? Kari can completely finish your quilt by sewing on the binding. This price includes machine sewing the binding to the quilt, and then hand-stitching for a polished finish. Making the binding is an additional charge at an hourly rate.

  • Thread

    Cost: $4 to $10 per quilt
    Choose from a variety of colors! Ordering is available for additional options, if needed.

  • Batting

    Cost: Prices range from $8 to $12 a yard
    Batting options are available for purchase.

  • Other Quilting Needs

    Kari will complete any other needs for your quilt for $25 per hour. Some examples include quilt repair, taking apart old quilts to refinish, adding borders, and making binding. Contact Kari to discuss the details.
